Topic: Forming processes

Forming is a process in which the shape of a partly finished product, for example sheet metal, is changed using plastic deformation. During forming, force is applied to a piece of sheet metal to change its shape rather than remove any material.

3D Forming by PROVEN CONCEPTS

Deep drawing is a sheet metal forming process in which a sheet metal blank is radially drawn into a forming die by the mechanical action of a punch.[1] It is thus a shape transformation process with material retention. The process is considered "deep" drawing when the depth of the drawn part exceeds its diameter.

Ultimately low production costs.
Cost savings through rigidity.
Weight reduction through 3D shaping.
Optimum flow and clean ability.

RUBBER MOULDING AND EXTRUSION by Medanco

Rubber needs to be vulcanized to get its flexibility. This is done under heat and pressure and takes several minutes. Moulded parts are vulcanized in a mould extruded parts are vulcanized with steam in an auto clave.

Rubber is flexible and can be stretched
Many different applications
Rubber can resist extreme temperatures
Long life time

Sign up for the Manufacturing Technology Conference 2024

16 april 2024
NH Conference Centre Koningshof, Locht 117, 5504 RM Veldhoven

The aim of this Manufacturing Technology Conference is to bring together technicians from the design and manufacturing industry to share knowledge about manufacturability. With this annual Manufacturing Technology Conference, we increase knowledge about manufacturability for developers and help them look for possibilities that were previously unknown.
